2. What we collect

Contact details you submit through booking, quote, contact and WhatsApp forms — name, email, phone number, address, postcode.
Booking details — property size, requested services, preferred date, any notes you share.
Payment metadata — Stripe processes card details directly; we only receive a payment reference, amount and status. We never see your full card number.
Account data — if you sign in as a client or partner, your email, hashed authentication token and role.
Technical data — IP address, browser, device and page timing collected by our hosting and analytics tooling to keep the site secure and measure performance.

3. Why we use it (lawful basis)

Contract — to quote, schedule, deliver and invoice cleaning work you have requested.
Legitimate interests — to prevent fraud, monitor site health, and improve our services.
Legal obligation — to keep VAT and accounting records for HMRC.
Consent — where you tick a marketing opt-in or accept non-essential cookies.

4. Who we share it with

Stripe — for card processing.
Cloud hosting and database providers — used to run this site and store bookings securely inside the UK/EU.
Syon Certified partners — the specific cleaner assigned to your job receives the details they need to attend (name, address, access notes, service scope).
HMRC and professional advisers — where required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

5. How long we keep it

Booking and invoice records are retained for 7 years to meet HMRC requirements. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Sign-in accounts are retained while active and deleted on request.

6. Your rights (UK GDPR)

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email info@syoncleaning.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and remember your session, plus optional analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can decline optional cookies in your browser without breaking the booking flow.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest on our managed hosting. Access to production data is limited to named staff on a need-to-know basis. Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 provider.

9. Changes

We will update the date above whenever this policy changes. Material changes are highlighted at the top of this page for 30 days.
